Disney Animation Studios celebro junto a Burny Mattinson quien,  cumplió en 2013 sus 60 años en Walt Disney Animation Studios, y el hito fue marcado con una fiesta sorpresa en la Expo D23. 

Disney Animation Studios celebrated with Burny Mattinson who turned in 2013 60 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the milestone was marked with a surprise at the D23 Expo party.

Mattinson es uno de los pocos artistas de Disney que trabajaron con el propio Walt Disney y que aún permanece entre el personal de Walt Disney Animation Studios. 

Su carrera se destaca por haber liderado el featurette animado MICKEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL, de 1983  nominado a un Oscar, que regresó a Mickey Mouse a la pantalla grande por primera vez en 30 años. En 1984 escribió, produjo y dirigió POLICÍAS Y RATONES. Entre los créditos de Mattinson se incluyen LA BELLA DURMIENTE, 101 DÁLMATAS, LA ESPADA EN LA PIEDRA, EL LIBRO DE LA SELVA, LOS ARISTOGATOS y LOS RESCATADORES. Fue un miembro clave del equipo de varios clásicos contemporáneos de Disney, entre ellos ALADDÍN, LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA, EL REY LEÓN, POCAHONTAS, MULÁN, EL JOROBADO DE NOTRE DAME y TARZÁN; y fue artista senior de historia en la gran aventura de 2011 WINNIE THE POOH. Mattinson se unió a Disney en 1953, a sus 18 años de edad, sin entrenamiento formal en arte; seis meses después, ya estaba trabajando como un artista asistente en LA DAMA Y EL VAGABUNDO.

Mattinson is one of the few Disney artists who worked with the own Walt Disney and that remains among the staff of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

His career is noted for having led the animated featurette MICKEY completo CHRISTMAS CAROL, 1983 nominated for an Oscar, who returned to Mickey Mouse to the big screen for the first time in 30 years. In 1984, he wrote, produced and directed The Great Mouse Detective. Mattinson credits include sleeping beauty, 101 DALMATIANS, the sword in the stone, the jungle book, the ARISTOCATS and the rescuers. He was a key member of the team of several contemporary Disney classics, including ALADDIN, beauty and the beast, The Lion King, MULAN, POCAHONTAS, THE  HUNCHBACK of NOTRE DAME and TARZAN; and it was history senior artist in the great adventure of 2011 WINNIE THE POOH. Mattinson joined Disney in 1953, at 18 years of age, without formal training in art; six months later, he was already working as an assistant artist in the Lady And The Tramp.
